Jared looks forward to this trip every year, he absolutely loves skiing and would love for Hunter to have a passion for it as well. But, he had a hard time convincing Hunter to leave the comforts of the room to brave the cold snow, I think Hunter only went skiing for one half day out of the 6 they were there. One day the kids went out with Jared & Becca to play in the snow and they built a huge snowman and made some snow angels. Most days Hunter stayed in and played with his cousins dancing to music or taking turns pulling each other on sleds down the hallways.
Back at home I was starting to warm up to the idea of being left behind at home with Logan and enjoying a quiet & clean house. I pulled out my scrap booking stuff and invited a friend over for a day of crafts & conversation. The next day however both Logan and I came down with the cold. By Wednesday Logan was really struggling and on Thursday morning I panicked and rushed Logan to the ER. He was having a terrible time clearing his nose and throat and would go into coughing fits producing this disturbing white frothy foam out of his mouth. (Later I learned Hunter was doing the same thing.) I called Jared in Whistler and the family decided to pack up a day early and head for home. Unfortunately most routes home were blocked due to ice, snow, floods or mudslides. They had to drive east through Canada to find a path that was open & cut down through the center of Washington to get home. It took them 13.5 hours of straight driving but they got home just 2 minutes shy of midnight. I have never been so happy to see my boys!
Logan tested positive for RSV and was given a nebulizer to help him breathe easier. Hunter is over his cold, as am I. Now that we have had a weekend of rest and relaxation we are ready to start a new week- this one hopefully better than the last. Oh, when we took Logan in to the doctors they of course weighed him and he is tipping the scales at just over 14 pounds!!!
Hunter playing with his cousins Andrew, Emma and Evan from Indianapolis before they all left for Whistler. They were playing dress up that's why they are in firemen costumes.
Here is the list of all the family in Whistler: Grandpa Ken & his wife Marjorie, her son Doug & his wife, Ken's sister Kathleen & Lawrence (also celebrating their wedding anniversary 50 years!!), their daughter Jonette & husband Keith with their son Cameron with is girlfriend and his sister Kylie & husband and daughter Marley. Gretchen & Ron with their kids Eric, Becca, Jake & Ava, Andrew, Stephanie, Kadence & Addyson, Jared & Hunter, Mark & Barb with their kids John & Kim, Brad, Tina, MacKenzie & Mya. Jan, Diane, Kendra & Caden. Missy, Don, Andrew, Emma & Evan from Indianapolis. Wow!

ReplyDeleteLol.. I agree that thing is at least 6 feet tall! Jared said it was a bear to get that last snowball on for the head. You can tell Hunter didn't feel 100% in most of the pictures his eyes look hollow.
ReplyDeleteI AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ALL ARE SAFE NOW.
ReplyDeleteBrutal!
