Hunter's 6th Birthday

Hunter got to celebrate his birthday THREE times this year! First, it started out at school on Thursday. (Remember the yummy brownie pops?)
Hunter seemed to enjoy the spotlight as the class sang to him.

Birthday boy gets first pick!
Everyone seemed to enjoy them.
Miss K & Hunter shared the left overs with the Principal and ladies in the office.
Then, that night we had the family over for cake & ice cream. Hunter said he wanted
"a chocolate cake with green frosting"
so I made a chocolate pudding cake with homemade butter cream frosting & toffee bits baked in and sprinkled in the middle layer.... YUM!

Then I started counting the guests and how many pieces this one cake would yield and decided maybe two cakes would be best. Well, Jared & I don't usually love chocolate cake so I made our favorite for the 2nd.
A moist white cake with (homemade) raspberry jam filling and cream cheese frosting. It was sooo good!
(I think most people favored it.)
Hunter made a quick change into his transformer costume and begged to light his own candles. I guess turning 6 has to have some benefits.
Among some other great gifts, he got a trick bike from Grammy & Papa.
(Hard to see it under "Kyle the Chameleon".)
And, drum roll please....
A camouflaged 4-wheeler
for him & his brother's to ride on around the farm!

This one family & friends chipped in on and it's not just his he'll be sharing it with everyone but it will be great to be able to load the boys up and go down to Grammy & Papa's or visit his cousins through the orchards.  For now, no one rides it until we get proper helmets and Jared or I are on the back.
(I know buzz kill, right?)

But the celebrations weren't done there!
On Sunday, we took Hunter bowling for the first time with some of his friends.

They even broadcast his photo with birthday messages throughout the game!
Getting ready for his first attempt.
Dad giving him a pep talk beforehand.
Woo Hoo a Spare!
Cute little bowling shoes.
This was the highlight of the bowling experience for him, it was like the space ships command post.
A few of the guests, Hunter, Tayler & Ashton.
(Most of the pictures I took were on my sister-in-law's camera, so more pics to follow...)

Hunter, I can't believe that you are 6 years old! You are such a bright, intelligent, sensitive & funny guy. I love you with all my heart and I can't wait to see the man you will become. You are the light of our lives, you are a great example to your little brothers and such a blessing to all those that get to meet you. I love that you read like a 1st grader, the way you greet people with a hand shake or a hug and you look them in the eye & say their name, I love your jokes and funny one liners and  I treasure the way you call me "Mama" and squeeze my waist.  I'm so proud of you!
I LOVE YOU!
