Last week, Hunter was invited to the quarterly Citizenship Assembly. We knew he was going to be honored for reaching the 10 point club in his Accelerated Reading Program at school. This is a big honor because most kids don't reach this level until 1st grade. In fact, his teacher Miss Kammenzind said he is her first Kindergartner to reach this goal in the nine years she's been teaching!! Wow! We invited all the family to come for the midday assembly and to our surprise the first award they announced was the Citizenship Awards and Hunter's name was called!
So now we have our first official bumper sticker for the car
"Ferndale School Citizen of the Month".
We will post it proudly! I was so proud of our little guy in that moment I actually wanted to cry, I had a lump of pride in my throat so big I could hardly contain it.
Kadey & Hunter. It was surprising at how much energy these kids had and how excited they got about the reading awards. They were pounding their feet & screaming so loud we felt like we were at the NBA finals.
Logan couldn't understand what all the fuss is about.
This week has two more special events.
Grandparent's Day Breakfast & the Spring Concert.
Lastnight, Hunter got a silly moustache during our home group and he couldn't wait to wear it to school this morning. So, when his Grandpa's came by this morning to take him to school he was proudly displaying his man'stache.
I can't help but wonder if he'll still be wearing it at the concert today. That would be hilarious!
I'll keep you posted.
