October was Breast Cancer Awareness month so we thought it would be a perfect time to throw my Grandma a Pink Party to support her & surviving her cancer diagnosis. It's been almost a year since she first suspected a lump in her breast as being problematic. And I'm a pleased to say that after surgery in January and chemotherapy treatments in the Spring she is now in remission, Praise God! She did not have to go through (the much dreaded) radiation either, another answer to prayer!
We invited the family over and surprised her with an all things pink party. It was so much fun!
It was sort of a "coming out" party of sorts, too. Grandma shed her wig for a bit to show off her newly sprouting hairs. :) Hunter had the honors of spray painting her cropped hair pink. He couldn't believe she was letting him do it. Towards the end of the night someone had an idea to use the decorations as alternate hair pieces. Here's Grandpa & Grandma trying some on.
It is nice to close the book on this chapter in Grandma's life.
The "C" word is officially behind her and we couldn't be happier about it!
Through faith, prayers & modern medicine she is healed. Praise God!
What Cancer Cannot Take From You
It cannot take away your Faith, shatter your Hope, or lessen your Love.
It cannot destroy true Friendship, invade the Soul or take away Eternal Life.
It cannot conquer your Spirit.
