7 months

Officially 7 months. Only 1 1/2 months left! I am done with work and getting a lot of nesting done around the house. I'm looking forward to the holidays and I realize that with the holidays approaching, time will pass at warp speed and before you know we'll have 3 kids!

Here's the latest developments in utero:
By the end of this month, your baby will be 3 pounds and 16 inches long. Her lanugo is beginning to disappear and is only visible on her back and shoulders. At seven months of pregnancy, your baby’s head hair is starting to grow and she looks more like a newborn. Her body is well formed and her skin is pink and smooth. She has grown eyebrows and even eyelashes, and her eyes that were fused shut have opened. Her nails have reached the tops of her fingers and toes. Her lungs are beginning to be functional and if she were born this month, she would have a good chance for survival. Shine a bright light on your belly, and she may turn towards it. Your baby is growing fast, and space is getting tight. She may wiggle if she gets uncomfortable. As she becomes more oriented in space, she may move to a head down position.
Your baby can see, although the view from the uterus looks mostly like a dull glow when it is bright and just black when it is dark. Even this little difference in lightness helps her begin to adjust to the day and night cycle where she lives. She can also hear, although most sounds are muffled. She is already becoming accustomed to mommy and daddy's voices, as well as the sounds that are familiar where you live. She is learning to feel comfortable with the music you listen too, other people you live with, pet noises and regular life around you.
She can also taste, although the flavors of the amniotic fluid are subtle. What you eat can change the flavor of the amniotic fluid, so she is already becoming accustomed to the types of food you eat.
Her lungs are preparing for breathing, and her movements give her muscles exercise. There is tremendous brain and nervous system growth taking place this month. She is also beginning to be able to have some ability to regulate her body temperature. Her bone marrow is now fully responsible for making her blood, and she passes about 1 pint of urine every day. The fat developing under her skin helps to smooth out the wrinkles as it gives her energy stores for the first few days of life.

You may be wondering why it says "she", it's not because we know this to be true... in fact after our ultrasound on friday we both firmly believe the opposite- BUT we did NOT peek!! This baby's features look exactly like Logan's ultrasound photos! The reason it says, "she" is because I copy & pasted it from websites that said that. =)

foot is up on its forehead, nearly poking itself in the eye.

PEEK A BOO BABY, WE SEE YOU!
Here is a video of the baby's face. It's hard to make out what's what at first, especially if you're not familiar with ultrasounds. You can see the face and then our little bean turns slightly and you can see the ear on the right handside. I think baby even licks its lips at one point.

New Grocery Getter~

This weekend we went to Portland not only for the 3D ultrasound and to visit my friend, Britt (who's also pregnant!) but to also look for a new vehicle that can transport this burgeoning Brown brood. Well, we found one!! It's amazing! It has every option I could have dreamed of and then some- like even a heated steering wheel & drop down electric running boards. It took us 4 hours to wheel & deal our way into it. But we are so happy.

It is going to be one sweet ride for this spoiled soccer mom!

The best feature, of course, is the built in DVD player- a must for road trips with 3 restless kids!
